Brain Coral Reef

Brain coral reefs are some of the most fascinating things to see under the sea. Many people take brain coral reefs for granted but this shouldn’t be the case. Increasing water temperatures, pollution, and all of the silt being washed into the ocean may very well be the death of many if not all brain coral reefs.

Brain Coral Reef And Preservation

Brain coral reefs are already found in limited numbers just because they require specific conditions to grow, but we should make moves to preserve all brain coral reefs well into the future.

Brain Coral Reef Location

Brain coral reefs are generally found in the seas and the oceans that are located between the Tropic of Capricorn and the Tropic of Cancer. The reason for this is that brain coral reefs like the warmer waters and the waters in this area cater to brain coral reefs. The brain coral reefs in these seas thrive because the water is very stable with temperatures ranging from 64 to 86 degrees Fahrenheit, perfect for brain coral reefs. In addition, there are longer days here, which the brain coral reefs like because the sun warms the water more.

Brain Coral Reef Size And Shape

Brain coral reefs vary in size and shape. It has been seen that brain coral reefs can be as high as or higher than six feet in height. Brain coral reefs are usually found with other types of reefs, such as stag horn reefs, soft coral, and more. Brain coral reefs grow quite slowly in comparison to other corals, but they are some of the strongest coral in the sea. Many times a whole reef will be destroyed due to a storm but the brain coral reefs continue to go strong.

Brain Coral Reef And Feeding

Brain coral reefs are quite interesting in the way that they feed. The reason is that brain coral reefs feed on algae known as zooxanthellae. The brain coral reefs feed on the algae through photosynthesis, which means that the brain coral reefs use the sunlight to break down carbon dioxide into oxygen and carbohydrates. Of course, the brain coral reefs then provide the algae with food through its waste products, so brain coral reefs and algae need one another to survive.

Brain Coral Reef And Diving

Brain coral reefs are quite beautiful and very interesting. While many would assume that brain coral reefs are very simple, this is not the case. Brain coral reefs are quite intricate and self sufficient and very diverse. If only all people could see brain coral reefs up close and personal people would appreciate exactly how beautiful and efficient brain coral reefs really are! If possible, everyone should dive down and see brain coral reefs to see exactly how precious they are and how all brain coral reefs should be preserved as well as possible.
