The Powerscourt Waterfall – A Place of Natural Beauty and History in the Heart of Ireland

Located in Enniskerry, Wicklow County, Ireland, and found on the river Dargle, the Powerscourt Waterfall is one of the country’s most important tourist attraction and a true wonder of nature. At just about 397 ft. (121 meters), it is the tallest waterfall in Ireland, and its proximity to the capital city of Dublin makes it easily accessible to visitors from all over the globe.

The waterfall is owned by the Powerscourt Estate, a well-known Irish estate that is noted for its stunning gardens, large castle and expansive grounds spanning over an area of almost 50 acres. The estate dates back to the 13th century, when its original owner and founder, a man named La Poer, established it as a strategic military location.

The Powerscourt Waterfall is located only 5 km away from Powerscourt House, and it is surrounded by large larch, oak and pine trees, some of which were planted more than 200 years ago, as well as giant sequoia trees planted around 1860.
