Cozumel – Home of the Arrecifes National Park

The Cozumel island has a large selection of diving sites, each having its sights and things to see. The island is located just off the coast and to the east of Mexico’s Yucatan peninsula, and is named after the Mayan “Ah Cuzamill Peten”, which translates to “the island of shallows”.

Palanca Reef is Cozumel’s most well-known scuba diving location

Diving here can be attempted by anyone, seasoned and intermediate divers alike. This diving site is the home of many strange-looking rock formations as well as a wide variety of corals to see, as well as different maritime life.

Punta Sur, awesome diving location within the Arrecifes de Cozumel National Park

The maritime park protects the large coral reef known as the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef System. The Punta Sur is divided into the northern and southern sections. The northern part has an area underwater known as the cathedral, featuring a plethora of maritime life for divers to see.
