Enjoy Night Dives and Shipwrecks in Barbados

Located in the western part of the Caribbean, Barbados has been known for many years as a great diving site, popular for its healthy collection of corals, turtles and other maritime species. Here are just a few great diving spots offered by the island:

Arawak Cement Factory Pear – Bioluminescent Light Shows in Barbados

The Arawak Cement Factory Pear is best experienced at night. After entering the water and turning off the flashlight, visitors will have an unforgettable light show coming from the bioluminescent marine species living here. Inexperienced divers can – and are recommended to – request a guide during this night dive.

The SS Stavronikita – The Most Well-Known Wreck in Barbados

In 1976, the SS Stavronikita caught fire which later led to an explosion. The ship was later towed to Barbados where it now lies as a popular diving location for visitors to experience and is also home to many fish species and corals. Because it is located in deep waters, the dive site is recommended only for experienced divers looking for adventure.
